About the training

The Office of Independent Living Programs (OILP) released the Compliance and Outcome Monitoring Protocol (COMP) Tool for Centers for Independent Living (CILs). The COMP tool was created to assist CILs to improve program performance; to understand how OILP is monitoring CIL performance; and to conduct self-assessments to prepare for desk audits, onsite reviews, or for internal reviews. You will learn exactly what is included in the COMP tool and how you can use it at your CIL.

Target Audience

Executive directors, program managers, and board members of centers for independent living.

What You Will Learn

  • Understand regulatory requirements to perform annual CIL reviews and how to adequately communicate adherence to compliance during a review;
  • Identify aspects of CIL operations that must meet federal requirements including standards, assurances, program operation, organizational structure, and administration of the CIL; and,
  • Assess the CIL’s level of regulatory compliance and readiness for a review by conducting an organizational self-assessment using ACL’s Compliance & Monitoring Protocol (COMP) Tool.
